So nothing really great, after a screw based initial disaster I had to go to a cut off which was quite punky in areas. Ended up with lots of filler to stabilise areas and then gold gilting to cover them up, few layers of lacquer to finish to seal the gold in and in the house for a couple of days gave me a very slight concave warping. Good fun and learnt plenty along the way with help from other members (thanks for the fb advice all)
