Product Description
This is the perfect opportunity here at The Woodturning Shop (Hampshire Sheen) to have a lesson with Emma Cook, The Tiny Turner, where she will guide you through casting and turning resin spheres. This course is designed for those with a reasonable amount of turning experience given the more technical nature of the tool work.
You will have a day packed with information and technique learning! You will learn about the processing and casting of resin blanks whilst casting your own sphere blank to take home at the end of the day. Emma will then demonstrate how to turn a sphere between centres before handing over to you to try it out for yourself on a timber blank.
After you have practised on the timber blank, you will swap over to one of Emma’s pre-cast resin blanks for you to turn from start to finish into a glorious sphere of your own.
Timings: 9.00am – 4pm (approx)
This course is ideal for students with a reasonable amount of woodturning experience looking to try something different.

Your Day Includes:

How To Book:

- Indicate the name(s) of the person(s) coming.
It is very helpful for us to know who is coming on the day, especially if the course is a gift.
- Confirm that those being booked are intermediate turners

- A £50.00 non-refundable deposit per person is due at the time of booking unless you are booking within 14 days of the course in which case, the full balance is due. After deposit payment has been made, an invoice for the balance will be sent which will be due no less than 14 days prior to the course. See our Terms and Conditions for full details.
- After payment, we will send you all the information you need to join the course on the date you booked.
- If there are fewer people than the required minimum for your course to run, we will contact you and offer you an alternative date or a full refund.
Tool Information
| > | Whilst there is no requirement to bring your own tools, particularly on our Experience Days, we do recommend you bring your own tools on this course that are appropriate to what you wish to learn on the day. For this two day course, you will be using: Emma will be providing all the necessary blanks and resin kit required. Any tool that you do not have of your own, we are able to provide for you. By bringing your own tools, you will have a better learning experience as you are using tools you are familiar with. We can also have a look at them and give any advice on sharpening we feel would be beneficial for you. |

Enjoy a day’s resin sphere tuition with Emma Cook, the Tiny Turner who is visiting us again at The Woodturning Shop (Hampshire Sheen). Only two dates for 2024: Friday 3rd May and Saturday 26th October.

Emma is a great, encouraging and collaborative tutor. In just a day you manage to cast your own resin blank, make your own sphere holding centres, make a practice wooden sphere, then turn a resin/burr sphere from a choice of blanks Emma provides. Being extremely well organised and prepared, Emma helped me to get through a huge amount of learning and processes in the day. Given the multiple materials provided within the course fee, I rate this as extremely good value.
