If you’re familiar with the world of woodturning, you probably know that Les Thorne stands out as a distinguished production turner. Now, imagine delving into the intricacies of the copy turning trade alongside this seasoned expert, utilising the very tools that define his craft—the skew chisel and spindle gouge.

This isn’t an opportunity that comes around often. With a maximum of 5 spaces, Les Thorne ensures personalised attention, tailoring the experience to the needs of intermediate turners. It’s not just a course; it’s a chance to elevate your skills, guided by a professional production turner, teacher and demonstrator.

The course starts with a meet-and-greet in the garden centre coffee shop at 9am before heading to the workshop. Lunch is included and we aim to finish the day at around 4pm.

Your Day Includes:

  • Timber
  • Use of machinery
  • Use of Tools (but we recommend bringing your own)
  • Use of any required consumables or other equipment
  • Lunch at the onsite coffee shop
  • Refreshments
  • PPE and Insurance

How To Book:

  1. Choose a green date on the calendar

    Dates with availability are green.

  2. Select the number of people you wish to book.

    If there are not enough spaces on the date selected, the site will tell you.

  3. Indicate the name(s) of the person(s) coming.

    It is very helpful for us to know who is coming on the day, especially if the course is a gift.

  4. Confirm that those being booked are intermediate turners

  5. Click the Add to Cart button and checkout as usual.

  6. A £50.00 non-refundable deposit per person is due at the time of booking unless you are booking within 14 days of the course in which case, the full balance is due. After deposit payment has been made, an invoice for the balance will be sent which will be due no less than 14 days prior to the course. See our Terms and Conditions for full details.

  7. After payment, we will send you all the information you need to join the course on the date you booked.

  8. If there are fewer people than the required minimum for your course to run, we will contact you and offer you an alternative date or a full refund.
