Who We Are

What personal data we collect and why we collect it

Comments

When visitors leave comments (including testimonials) on the site, I collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection. Email addresses are always kept private and not added to mailing list unless you expressly check the box to be added.

An anonymised string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Contact forms

If you use the contact form on this site, it collects the information you provide in order for me to contact you back. This includes your name, email address, phone number and any information you provide in the subject and message boxes. To help prevent spam, the browser agent, and IP address of the computer is also collected. This information is emailed to me directly and responded to accordingly. It is not used for any further commercial or marketing reason – purely to communicate with you about the content of your message.

Order Fulfillment

When you place an order, book a demonstration space and/or join the club, a record of your name, company name (if applicable), email address, shipping address, billing address, computer IP address, amount spent and products ordered are kept on the website. This data is passed to Stripe.com and to our accounts software provider (Xero.com). See below for links to their privacy policies. Aside from the statutory emails regarding your purchases, you will also be sent a review request for the purchased products.

Marketing, Promotion and News Sharing

When you join Woodturning360, make a purchase or join a mailing list on this website, we use your name and email address to pass occasional information to you about news relating to the Club, supporting company’s products which may include members only content, booking information, club news, hints and tips, marketing and promotional material from ourselves, or members of our distribution network. Your data is not shared outside of the Club or Hampshire Sheen Ltd.
You can choose to select your email preferences in your account on the website. Or you can unsubscribe from the list at any time.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site, you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics to monitor website traffic to and from this website to enable me to better understand visitor behaviour and improve the website. Who we share your data with

We do not share your data with anyone outside of Hampshire Sheen Ltd (including M. Saban-Smith Woodturning and Woodturning360) for marketing or promotional purposes. See below for where your data is sent to enable us to process payments and orders through this site.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on, or join our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information. Use the contact form to send a GDPR request, and it will be actioned within 21 days.

From 25th May 2018:

  • Pending (unpaid), failed and cancelled orders will be deleted after 1 month following the creation, failure or cancellation of the order,
  • Completed orders must be kept for 7 years,

*For legal reasons, details of financial transactions must be kept for a minimum of seven years. This is Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs requirements is a compulsory for a UK business to adhere to.

What rights you have over your data

You can keep tabs on your data. You can request your personal data by contacting us requesting a copy of the information we store about you. You will then receive an email with information on how to access your data. Clicking this link will give you options to update your data or delete your data completely from the website. There is some data we have to legally keep for administration and legal purposes, namely financial transaction and booking data.

Where we send your data

Visitor comments are checked through an automated spam detection service. Data you add to this site through purchasing as kept on our accounts software in accordance with the law. See www.xero.com for their privacy statements. Your data may also be sent to Stripe.com in order to process your payment. Visit Stripe.com for information on their privacy policy. Your delivery address is sent to the manufacturer of garments, gifts and merchandise so they may be sent to you by them. See www.inkthreadable.co.uk and www.printify.com for their privacy policy. Your name, company name, shipping address, email address and contact phone number are passed on to Royal Mail in order for them to safely deliver any product orders. They may use your email address to send you tracking information and your phone number if they need to contact you regarding the order, or delivery.
